We understand that it can be a bit tricky, especially since Ikea provides external dimensions for their drawers, while we need the internal dimensions. Internal Measurements and Sloping Drawer Sides
IKEA MAXIMERA drawers have sloping drawer sides, which means the drawer is narrower at the bottom than higher up. This affects how you should measure when ordering custom-made drawer inserts.
- Drawer mats: Drawer mats sit at the bottom of the drawer, inside the drawer sides. Therefore, we need the internal width and depth measured at the bottom of the drawer.
- Cutlery inserts: Our cutlery inserts are 55 mm high. To ensure a perfect fit, we need the internal width measured at exactly 55 mm above the drawer base. At this height, the drawer is slightly wider than at the bottom. The depth can still be measured at the bottom, as the front and back panels are straight.
