Handles for IKEA kitchens and IKEA Metod cabinets

Changing the handles is one of the easiest ways to personalise an IKEA kitchen. Whether you have a modern IKEA Metod kitchen or an older IKEA kitchen, new handles can completely change the look of your cabinets and drawers.

All our kitchen handles fit IKEA kitchens as long as the centre-to-centre measurement (CC measurement) matches the existing holes in your doors or drawers.

Which handle measurements are used on IKEA kitchens?

IKEA Metod kitchens commonly use standard handle measurements that are also widely used for kitchen handles in general:

  • CC 96 mm – Common for smaller drawers and cabinet doors.
  • CC 128 mm – The most common size for many IKEA Metod doors and drawers.
  • CC 160 mm – Often used on wider doors and drawers.
  • CC 192 mm and larger – Suitable for wider fronts and tall cabinets.

The CC measurement is the distance between the centre of the two screw holes. Always measure your existing holes before ordering new handles to make sure they fit perfectly.

Popular IKEA kitchen doors and suitable handles

IKEA kitchen doors come in many different styles, and the right handle can help highlight the character of your kitchen.

  • BODBYN – A classic framed door that works well with traditional handles, knobs and cup handles.
  • AXSTAD – A modern framed door that suits both minimalist and classic handles.
  • VOXTORP – A smooth modern front where profile handles or carefully placed handles create a clean look.
  • RINGHULT – A modern high-gloss front that works well with sleek metal finishes.
  • LERHYTTAN – A traditional wood-style front that pairs well with brass and antique finishes.

Handles for IKEA Metod and older IKEA kitchens

IKEA Metod replaced the older IKEA Faktum kitchen system, but many older kitchens are still in use. The handle measurements are often similar, but always check the existing CC measurement and screw length before replacing handles.

For kitchens without pre-drilled holes, such as some VOXTORP fronts, you can install handles in your preferred position using a drilling template.

Knobs, cup handles and profile handles for IKEA kitchens

Handles are not the only option for IKEA kitchens. Depending on your style, you can also choose:

  • Kitchen knobs – A simple and decorative choice for doors and smaller drawers.
  • Cup handles – A classic choice for country and traditional kitchens.
  • Profile handles – Perfect for modern IKEA kitchens with a minimalist design.

How to measure existing IKEA handles

Before replacing your handles, measure the distance between the centre of one screw hole and the centre of the other. This measurement is called CC and is the most important measurement when choosing new handles.

  • Remove the existing handle.
  • Measure the distance between the screw holes.
  • Check the thickness of the door or drawer front.
  • Choose a new handle with the same CC measurement.

By choosing the right handles, you can easily upgrade your IKEA kitchen and create a more personal style without replacing the entire kitchen.
